Verse of the Week
John 16:30-31 (KJV)
"Now we are sure Thou knows all things, and needest not that any man should ask Thee: by this we believe that Thou camest forth from God. Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?"
This conversation was between Jesus and the disciples. They were telling Jesus that they believed Jesus knew everything and they did not need to ask him anything (because He already knew what they would ask). Because of this they believed Jesus came from God. Or that He was the Son of God. That sounds pretty good, right? It is Jesus' answer that has us confused. He asked if they really did believe. This is the same question I am asking you now. Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God? If you truly believe He is, it should impact your life. Do you listen to and obey what He tells you to do? Do you believe everything He tells you? What about the things He tells you not to do? Do you obey, every time? If you believe Jesus is the Son of God, He has every right to tell you what to and what not to do!
